Call for Submissions: Preamp Pilot Project 

Who is this opportunity for:

Professional artists who self-identify with a diverse community.

• Arts Commons defines a professional artist as an individual who has specialized training in their artistic field, are recognized by their peers as a professional, have a history of public presentation, and are committed to devoting more time to artistic activity if financially possible.

• Please note that Arts Commons recognizes and values approaches to creativity and expression that originate from non-western cultural traditions, meaning that ‘specialized training’ or ‘public presentation / engagement’ of an artist does not need to originate from institutions or contexts commonly recognized within the established artistic community.

Call for Submissions for Vendors: Happenings: Citizens Market

Who is this opportunity for:

• Artists, artisans, craft makers, and grassroots vendors from diverse communities across Calgary and area.

Description of event / opportunity:

• This one day pop-up market – scheduled at the beginning of the holiday season (Thu Dec 6, 2018, from 4:00pm to 9:00pm in the Jack Singer Lobby) – will showcase the work of grassroots artists, craft makers, and artisans from diverse communities in Calgary. We want to provide vendors from different communities with a place where they can display and sell their items at no cost to the vendor – unlike traditional markets, there are no fees for participating. We are offering a 6ft table / space for a booth in the lobby of the Jack Singer Concert Hall and will be advertising the event. The event will also feature music and entertainment ensuring this is a fun, vibrant, and family-friendly environment.
