There’s something for everybody in the 2023-24 season of Arts Commons Presents, the presenting arm of Arts Commons, Western Canada’s largest performing arts centre. From circus to contemporary dance, folk music to classic rock and everything in between, Arts Commons Presents has the ticket to energizing, adventurous, and awe-inspiring performances.
Subscriptions to the BD&P World Stage, Classic Albums Live, and National Geographic Live series with Arts Commons Presents are on sale now at artscommons.ca/subscribe. Looking for a bit more flexibility in your ticket packages? Flex packages go on sale May 31, 2023 at artscommons.ca/flex. Single tickets for all series go on sale June 8, 2023. Arts Commons Presents contains three unique subscription series as well as a diverse lineup of special presentations.
BD&P World Stage
BD&P World Stage enters its 23rd season of bringing the best that the world has to offer to Calgary's spectacular Jack Singer Concert Hall, giving our city the chance to experience something completely new. This season we welcome The Triplets of Belleville: 20th Anniversary Film in Concert conducted by the composer himself, Montreal-born Benoit Charest, followed by a holiday concert celebration with The Barra MacNeils: An East Coast Christmas. The New Year brings Australian contemporary circus company Circa and their new show Humans 2.0, followed by Cuba’s leading contemporary dance company: Malpaso with Arturo O'Farrill & the Afro-Latin Jazz Orchestra. The season rounds out with DakhaBrakha, a multi-award winning Ukrainian folk music group and active ambassadors for Ukrainian music and culture, and multi-GRAMMY Award winning jazz legend Diane Schuur with Raul Midón.

Classic Albums Live returns with an irresistible three-show lineup that will have you waxing nostalgic and dusting off your vinyl collection. This fan-favourite concert series consistently packs the Jack Singer Concert Hall with music lovers as the talented Canadian artists recreate their favourite classic albums note for note, cut for cut. In the second act, they celebrate the full breadth of the band’s repertoire for a greatest hits concert any fan would appreciate.

National Geographic Live
The wildly popular National Geographic Live enters its 12th season with Arts Commons Presents of transporting audiences around the globe and inspiring a love for science and our planet. The Explorers of the 2023-24 season take audiences from the highest peaks to the depths of the ocean, deep in the untamed wilds of India, to the Arctic Circle with National Geographic Live’s first Indigenous speaker, and 65 million years in the past with high resolution photos and video projected on a screen spanning the width of the Jack Singer Concert Hall stage.

Throughout the 2023-24 season, Arts Commons Presents is excited to announce a number of unique offerings as Special Presentations. These will be announced as the season progresses, but we do have four blockbuster concerts to share today. In a highly anticipated Calgary appearance, the winner and runner-up of the second season of American Idol join Arts Commons Presents for Ruben & Clay: Twenty | The Tour bringing their stellar voices and magnetic stage presence to the Jack Singer Concert Hall. Just in time for the holidays, Jann Arden brings her acclaimed Christmas concert with A Jann Arden Christmas for a two-night exclusive engagement. For families and dinosaur lovers, we have Dinosaur World Live, a live performance featuring huge, remarkably lifelike prehistoric puppets by the same team that created War Horse. And finally, combining the Emmy Award-winning docuseries and a live orchestral performance, Secrets of the Whales: A Film in Concert is a one-of-a-kind National Geographic Live concert performance featuring live narration by none other than the incomparable Jann Arden.
