For those of us who love the look and smell of a natural wreath but also want to put our personal touch on it, we have the craft for you. Whether you prefer a classic evergreen wreath adorned with festive bows or a unique, dried flower arrangement, the possibilities are endless. Grab your supplies and get ready to make some magic!
Supplies:
-
Wire wreath (Michaels or Dollarama)
-
Floral Wire 22 gauge (Michaels)
-
Decorations for the wreath (Dollar Store or Michaels)
-
Ribbon
-
Fresh Moss (Garden Store) 1 large bag will do 2 – 3, 10” wreaths.
-
3 bunches of Greenery (Garden Store or clipped from your Christmas tree). This will be enough for 2 wreaths
-
Small pruning shears
-
Wire cutters
-
Spray bottle of water or bowl of water
Step 1
Anchor your floral wire around the wire frame, ensuring it won’t slip off. DO NOT CUT IT!
Step 2
Begin by wetting your moss and placing in the wire frame. Wrap the moss tightly as you go. Your moss should be wrapped tightly and evenly around the wire frame. It should be about 2” high.
PRO TIP: You want your moss wet but not dripping.
Step 3
Tie off your floral wire and cut.
Your will have a wire frame of moss – beautiful on it’s own!
Step 4
Cut your greenery into 6 - 8” pieces.
Step 5
Tie your floral wire back onto the wire frame.
Step 6
Gather 3 – 4 pieces of cut greenery and place on wreath. Wrap the floral wire tightly around the ends of the greenery to anchor onto the wreath. DO NOT CUT the wire until you are done all of the greenery!
Step 7
Repeat step 5, layering the greenery bunches and wrapping with floral wire.
Step 8
Repeat steps 5 & 6, until complete. Tie off your floral wire.
Step 9
Decide which part of your wreath is the top.
Step 10
Place decorations around your wreath as desired.
Step 11
TA-DA! Hang on front door or use as a table centre.
PRO TIP: Spray with water to keep fresh!
