Planned Giving

Gift plans create many wonderful opportunities for both our donors and Arts Commons. Determining what fit is right for you is just as important as making the gift. There are many options, but the correct plan for you balances your charitable interests in your overall estate and financial plans.

Planned giving can be as simple as including a bequest provision in your will or naming Arts Commons as a beneficiary in your retirement plan or life insurance policy. No matter the size, your gift will help ensure that coming generations will benefit from the power of art.

Discover how making a gift through Arts Commons is a meaningful way of expressing your passion and has an equally profound impact on your community.

Consider Arts Commons in your will or living trust.

The simplest way to make a planned gift is to include Arts Commons in your will or revocable living trust.  If you have already drafted a will, your attorney may add Arts Commons as a beneficiary through a simple amendment called a codicil.  Similarly, a gift provision for Arts Commons may be added to a revocable trust agreement.

There are several ways for you to remember Arts Commons in your will or trust:

  • You may name the organization as a specific beneficiary, stating a fixed dollar amount or a percentage of your estate that you wish to leave Arts Commons.
  • You may name Arts Commons as a remainder beneficiary, providing for the Centre to receive assets from your estate after all specific beneficiaries have received their assets.
  • Your gift may also be contingent so that assets go to the Centre if someone named as a beneficiary does not survive you.
  • In addition to cash, you can bequeath securities, real estate, art and other forms of personal property.
  • A bequest can be made for the general benefit of Arts Commons or for the benefit of a particular department or program.  If you choose to designate your gift, please contact us in advance to ensure that we are able to accommodate your wishes.
