Artist Bio

I am a multifaceted artist and musician. I am also an indepedent researcher of languages and cultures. I was born in Calgary to Cuban and Salvadoran parents of African, Indigenous American and Sephardic descent. Members of my father's family, Luis Emilio Rios, are renown Cuban musicians and academic scholars and I work closely with them. I am deeply inspired by my roots as well as my experiences traveling. I have received musical training in Cuba and Morocco. I have also had the opportunity to play in several countries including Canada, the U.K and Morocco, in collaboration with different local and international artists.
