Kelly
Artist Bio
I am a sand artist who creates impactful sand art performances addressing various topics. I have actively engaged with community centers, including government agencies, schools, libraries, senior centers, and youth centers, providing engaging and emotionally impactful experiences to audiences.
Sand art is a unique form of art that uses sand to create diverse stories. Through my performances, I aim to raise awareness on social issues such as anti-bullying, drug prevention, school violence, smoking cessation, multiculturalism, and self-esteem. Additionally, I deliver opening performances tailored to the themes of various events, offering audiences new experiences and emotions.
While I have gained significant experience through my activities in Korea, I am now eager to contribute to Canada's cultural industry. My decision to immigrate to Canada stems from my desire to continue my sand art activities here, inspiring and bringing hope to people, just as I have done in Korea.

I Speak Art IV Artist Statement:
The shifting nature of sand symbolizes the evolving story between Korea and Canada.
This artwork captures the journey of Korea and Canada coming together through sand art. Symbols like Seoul Tower, Calgary Tower, each nation’s flag, the hibiscus, and maple leaf represent both countries, while maps drawn in sand reflect the connection and migration between the two.
