ARTIST BIOGRAPHY: 

Thomas has been playing bass trombone for 13 years. Passionate about music, Thomas took part in every musical ensemble he could; concert bands, jazz bands and combos, and 3 different marching bands. Graduating from U of C in 2020 with a bachelor's degree in music, Thomas began creating his first solo album ‘Tombone’. Thomas immersed himself in the world of Loopers, hip hop-soaked trombone licks, and jazzy rap on beatboxed grooves to bring this album to life. 

Thomas’s rich Calgary music community includes The National Music Centre (NMC), Stampede Showband, Long Time No Time, and the Cowtown Collection. As an educator at the NMC, Thomas gets to lead field trips and give tours exploring the many Canadian halls of fame. As the trombone teacher with the Stampede Showband Thomas helps to shape the sound of the brass line and empower students with the necessary breathing technique to march and play. Thomas is a founding member of local horn band ‘Long Time No Time’, which has been rocking Calgary stages since 2018. Thomas can also be seen adorning a full-body cow costume performing with the Cowtown collection, a groundbreaking marching arts ensemble. Thomas is very excited to participate in the 2023-2024 TD incubator and looks forward to the collaborations ahead.
