Artist Bio
I've been singing as long as I can remember. The first time I sang in front of people was most likely church. From childhood, I would sing on various worship teams, and eventually taught myself how to play guitar, and would lead worship. From very small country church teams, to large metropolitan production-heavy teams, I was able to learn and grow musically on a consistent basis for many years. As I got older, I continued to sing in worship teams, but would also write original music, and started to teach myself how to produce. I've always been a curious person, and music has been a safe outlet for me to be able to create and share new worlds with people. I've done background vocals for artists in studio as well as on stage. One notable opportunity I had was to provide supporting vocals for Lakesha Jones with the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra Whitney Houston Tribute (March 2023). I'm working on an EP currently that will be a reflection of where I am at right now musically. I feel that I have many influences and am always taking in new styles and new forms of expression. I'm excited to put that into my art and share it with others.
On a personal note, the last couple of years have been busy to say the least. I had my first child, which made me reflect on the things in life that matter to me, and what I care about. I realized that life is short, and the thing that I care about more than anything is music. And singing is the one thing that helped me feel like myself after a very intense postpartum season. Now that the dust has settled (he's two now!), it's been really amazing to share my love of music with my son, and to show him that mommy is following her dreams, and that he can too!
