Purchase Policy

Ticket Limits and Availability

Please adhere to published ticket limits. Persons who exceed the ticket limit are subject to having any or all of their orders and tickets cancelled without notice by Arts Commons. This includes orders associated with the same name, email address, billing address, credit card number or other information.

Arts Commons rents venue space to event providers. Our event provider clients decide at their sole discretion which of their tickets are made available for public sale. The tickets we sell belong to our clients and typically represent only a portion of (and sometimes substantially less than) the total venue seating capacity. On occasion, additional tickets may be released by the event provider as late as the event date.

Tickets may not be available in all price levels and sections. Ticket prices are also subject to change.

Babes in Arms
Should you wish to attend an Arts Commons Presents performance with an infant aged below two years, no ticket will be required, but they will need to be accommodated on the parent or guardian’s lap, as no seat will be allocated. Children over the age of two require a seat and therefore a paid ticket. Please note that third party rentals set their own rules and therefore may have different policies for their ticket sales. A paid ticket may therefore be required for infants, in this case.

Ticket Delivery and Pick-up Specifications

The tickets are shipped to your billing address only. If you selected to have your tickets mailed to you, and do not receive your tickets one week prior to the event please contact the Arts Commons Box Office at 403-294-9494 or the Resident Company box office through which you purchased your tickets.

Tickets may only be picked up from the box office where the tickets were purchased, by the credit card holder with the valid credit card used to make the purchase, in addition to government issued photo identification. Tickets may be picked up one hour prior to the event start time, the night of the event. To avoid line ups we recommend arriving at the venue box office no later than 45 minutes prior to event start time.

The Arts Commons Box Office is located at 225 – 8 Avenue SE, Calgary, AB T2G 0K8, in centre court, on the ground level. Please visit the individual Resident Company websites if you purchased your tickets directly through them.

Refunds & Exchanges – As of April 17, 2020

Under normal circumstances, Arts Commons will not issue an exchange or refund for a ticket after it has been purchased. Arts Commons also will not issue a refund for a lost, stolen, damaged or destroyed ticket (or credit card in the case of a paperless ticket) or for a ticket claimed to be "undelivered".

While the COVID-19 pandemic is still affecting gathering numbers, and health and safety are an ongoing concern, Arts Commons is committed to making your visit to Arts Commons an experience you can trust. We are therefore offering ticket holders a flexible refund policy for all Arts Commons Presents shows, which include BD&P World Stage, Classic Albums Live, National Geographic Live, PCL Blues, Jazz, and TD Amplify Cabarets in the 2022-23 season, scheduled up to December, 2022.

Should you be unable or hesitant to attend a performance, due to COVID health concerns, your options include:

  • donating the value of your ticket (for which you would receive a tax receipt)
  • transferring your ticket value to a gift certificate, or
  • receiving a refund.

These first two options provide you with the opportunity to support Arts Commons and help us safeguard our long-term sustainability. Should these options not suit your needs, however, you may choose the third option of a refund. Refunds will be issued in the same format as original payment. Any of these options are available up to 1 hour prior to the performance. We do ask, however, that you provide as much advance notice as possible, so we can release the seat to another patron.

Note that Resident Companies and third party promoters set their own purchase and refund policies. Arts Commons is unable to refund a ticket to a third party event unless and until that third party authorizes it.

Event Cancellations

In the event that an event is cancelled, patrons who have purchased tickets can receive a refund by contacting the point of purchase by phone or in person. The Arts Commons Box Office can only issue refunds to ticket holders who have purchased their tickets through the Arts Commons Box Office.

Information Verification and Usage

All orders are subject to credit card approval and billing address verification. After your order is processed, please contact our box office at 403-294-9494 if you have any questions regarding your order.

By ordering a ticket to an Arts Commons Presents event, you agree to Arts Commons sending you occasional promotional emails unless you elect otherwise in your Arts Commons Account.
