Holly Schile
Holly Schile is the Fine and Performing Arts Consultant with Instructional Services, at the Calgary Catholic School District. She oversees fine and performing arts for grades K-12. She holds an undergraduate degree from McGill University where she studied music performance, the visual arts, and education, and completed a Master’s of Education from Concordia University. Holly has over 20 years of teaching experience and has taught all grade levels, including Advanced Placement and the International Baccalaureate. She is honoured to be a recipient of the Shepherd Leadership Award and Alberta Provincial Excellence in Teaching Award. She most recently was nominated for the Lieutenant Governor of Alberta Distinguished Artist Award. Holly coordinates and delivers professional development to teachers and is involved with the arts community personally, professionally, and educationally through various stakeholders across Canada.
One of her key focus areas and passion is arts integration. She feels strongly that the arts are an integral part of the community and loves the impact and power the arts have when opportunities embed cultural richness and beauty through sharing one’s story. Holly has served as an Arts Commons Board member since 2014.
