As Vice President and Chief Operations Officer, Colleen Dickson is responsible for all financial and administrative functions, strategic planning, human resources, capital projects, IT, production, event services, and management information systems. Since joining Arts Commons, Colleen has contributed to the strengthened financial position of the organization through sound financial management and stewardship of resources.

As a CPA (CMA) with more than 30 years of varied experience in financial management and business leadership, Colleen served as Chief Financial Officer for Big Rock Breweries and Corporate Controller for Alpine Environmental Services prior to joining Arts Commons.

Colleen’s title does not encompass all that she brings to the organization, however. Colleen’s passion lies in people – their development, their individuality, and leveraging their strengths to move the organization forward. Colleen believes in celebrating successes and providing staff with the support they need to get their work done efficiently in balance with their personal lives and ambitions.

When Colleen is not working, she spends time with her husband, Norm, enjoys cooking huge feasts for her family, and exploring Calgary’s food, art, and culture scene with friends.
