National Geographic Live
From the jungles of Madagascar to the silent beauty of outer space, the 2017-18 season of National Geographic Live will take you on unforgettable journeys. Intrepid explorer and primatologist Mireya Mayor will share her perils and triumphs in her quest to protect the world’s most endangered primates – lemurs. Astronaut and ISS Commander Terry Virts takes us out of this world to the spectacular realm outside our planet’s atmosphere, and photographer Bertie Gregory plunges headlong into adventure in pursuit of Canadian wild life. Lastly, photojournalist Cristina Mittermeier will share powerful stories from four indigenous communities, including the Kayapo of the Amazon, the Inuit of Greenland, and the First Nations of British Columbia, dependent on water but living in balance with the natural resources that sustain them.
Since Arts Commons began presenting the speaker series, National Geographic has gained tremendous momentum, expanding to performing arts centres around the globe. Within Canada, Arts Commons is one of only two performing arts centres presenting the series. We are also proud to offer school education shows for all our presentations.
