Conveniently located in the heart of downtown Calgary, Arts Commons is easy to get to by car, transit, foot, or bike.

Location

Arts Commons is at 205 - 8th Avenue SE, adjacent to Olympic Plaza to the north, and west of City Hall. With guests attending several venues, Art Commons can be very busy. We encourage you to arrive at least 45 minutes before your show time.

Arts Commons is connected by the +15 Network to the City Hall parkade. +15 access to Arts Commons from the Telus Convention Centre/Glenbow Museum is currently closed for construction.

PLEASE NOTE: The escalators are out of order in the Jack Singer Concert Hall at Arts Commons. For ticket holders with seats above the Mezzanine level, the +15 Hallway door will be open for entry. Please see directions on the Health & Accessibility page.

Parking

Plan Ahead With guests attending several venues in Arts Commons, parking in the area can become congested. We encourage you to arrive 30 minutes before your show time.

Arts Commons Parkade

Underground parking is available in the Arts Commons Parkade. Enter between 9th and 8th Avenues SE from the far-left lane of Northbound Macleod Trail. If the Arts Commons Parkade is full, City Hall Parkade is a good alternative and it's connected by +15 walkway.

Rates
Flat rate parking is available weekdays after 6 p.m. and weekends, in most parking areas. For all parking rates, please visit the Calgary Parking Authority website.

Repairs to the Arts Commons Parkade: Due to improvements to the Arts Commons Parkade being conducted by the City of Calgary, there will be sections of P1 closed.

Additional Parking

For additional parking in the area, see the map below or visit Downtown Calgary’s interactive parking map. View the Parkade Stall Count RSS feed to learn real-time availability of spots in Calgary Parking Authority lots as well as for street parking. 

Due to renovations of the Glenbow Museum, the +15 walkway connecting Arts Commons to the Calgary Telus Convention Centre/Glenbow Museum is closed. This will affect patrons parking at the Palliser Hotel and Telus Convention Centre who wish to use the +15 walkways to enter Arts Commons. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Parking fees and hours are subject to change. For details, call the Calgary Parking Authority at 403-537-7000.

 

Transit and Bike

Plan Ahead 
With guests attending several venues, Art Commons can be very busy. We encourage you to arrive 30 minutes before your showtime.  

Transit Access 
City Hall and Centre Street Stations are the nearest C-Train stops. Arts Commons is one block south of the C-Train routes on 7th Avenue S.   

Bus Access 

There are nearby stops on routes 9, 10, 31, 69, 7, 24, 30, 110, 117, 151, 1, 24, 31, MAX Yellow, 411, 10, 31, 108, 112, 302. Arts Commons is a 10-minute walk from the major bus hubs around 1 St and 5 Ave SW.

Bike Access
Calgary's many bike lanes provide a safe and efficient way to get to Arts Commons. See the City of Calgary Downtown Cycle Tracks page to plan your route.

Bike racks are located on 8th Ave SE in front of both the Martha Cohen Theatre and the Jack Singer Concert Hall.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to the ongoing renovations of the Glenbow Museum, the +15 walkway connecting Arts Commons to the Calgary Telus Convention Centre/Glenbow Museum will be closed as of June 22, 2022 until further notice.
