Latin & Love Songs - Clicquot Trio

After their successful debut at Engineered Air Theatre last October, Clicquot Trio are back for a romantic evening of Latin and love songs to celebrate Valentine's Day. Classically trained pianist Claire Butler from the UK formed the trio in 2017 with Calgarian music graduate Reuben Grendus and Matt Heller - bassist in the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra. Together they performed at the 2017 Music in the Plaza concert series at Heritage Park and last October at Engineered Air Theatre with music that fused classical music with jazz elements. This concert features Stefano Valdo on double bass, a classically trained jazz musician who grew up in Italy and now resides in Calgary. Get set for a romantic evening of classic love songs including Sway, My Funny Valentine, My Foolish Heart and Latin grooves such as The Girl from Ipanema.

Love songs are perfect to showcase saxophonist Rick Climans smooth sounds and he joins the trio as a special guest for this performance.

Clicquot Trio perform Claude Bolling's Garnerama and Fiance et Folies as well as some Vince Guaraldi classics.
