GRAMMY Award winning singer-songwriter Don Flemons brings a modern sensibility and engaging charm to old-time acoustic blues. Playing the part of traditional troubadour with over 100 years of American ballads, folksongs, and melodies at his fingertips, Flemons embodies his nickname of The American Songster.
In addition to his smooth hand at the banjo and playfully charismatic vocals, Flemons performs the guitar, harmonica, fife, bones, bass drum, snare drum, and quills, meaning you never know what he’s going to throw at you next. In 2012, Flemons left his band, the Carolina Chocolate Drops, to pursue a solo career and released his album Prospect Hill, digging deeply into ragtime, Piedmont blues, spirituals, ballads, southern folk music, and more, with his trademark showmanship and humour.
