Men Express Their Feelings

This fast-paced comedy takes us to a community hockey rink. Two dads and their sons
are sentenced to the dressing room to sort out a misunderstanding. As rivalry turns to
friendship, these men teach themselves what it really means to win. Men Express Their
Feelings dives into hot topics such as hockey culture, male emotional literacy and
sexuality. This world premiere comedy features excellent Calgary talent both on and off
stage and is written by one of Canada’s brightest playwrights, Sunny Drake.

Sunny Drake is a playwright, theatre creator and performer. He has toured his theatre
works to over 80 venues in 55 cities across Canada, Australia, the US, and Europe,
bringing challenging work to a wide range of audiences from elderly ladies in regional
theatres to queers in underground warehouses. His plays have been translated into 4
languages for projection of surtitles: French, Spanish, German and Italian. He was born
in Australia and has lived in Canada since 2011.

The Big Secret Theatre is not a secret anymore and at one point it wasn't even a theatre! The space, hidden away on the +15 level of Arts Commons was originally designed to function as a lounge. In 1987, One Yellow Rabbit Performance Theatre approached Arts Commons seeking space and the lounge space was leased to them on a trial basis. Today the company calls the Big Secret Theatre their permanent home.
