Multi-award winning and double GRAMMY nominated blues artist Cedric Burnside has a signature groove that lives up to the strength of his musical lineage. As a young music prodigy, Cedric Burnside joined his grandfather, R.L. Burnside’s band when he was only 13 years old, and eventually succeeded his father as lead drummer for the group.
Cedric Burnside is noted, among many other strengths, of his ability to recreate the Hill Country sound – a quality rare in contemporary blues musicians. His latest album, Benton Country Relic, brings this sound into the modern era without losing any of the soul that has made it so iconic and sought-after. It’s rare that a musician so perfectly embodies both the present and past of blues, but Cedric Burnside achieves that and more.
