Tim Williams: Conversations in Blue
A special radio broadcast
Recorded from the Jack Singer Concert Hall
Friday, September 3 at 9pm
One Night Only!
On CKUA’s Friday Night Blues Party
Music is a global language – so what happens when blues enters that conversation? Multi-award-winning musician, and Calgary legend, Tim Williams wants to know. Skilled at pulling any rhythm or style out of the strings underneath his fingers, Williams invites two other maestros to join him – renowned kathak dancer and harmonium player Amika Kushwara and Indo-Canadian vocalist and tabla wizard Cassius Khan – for Conversations in Blue, a brand-new collaboration that is at once international and distinctly Canadian.
Pre-recorded from the Jack Singer Concert Hall stage with the help of the venue’s state-of-the-art sound upgrade, Tim Williams: Conversations in Blue will hit the radio waves Alberta-wide on CKUA’s Friday Night Blues Party on September 3 at 9 p.m.
“Tim Williams is normally thought of as a blues player but, as a glance at his discography shows, his interests encompass all kinds of roots music... born & raised in Southern California amid a large Mexican community whose sounds he absorbed completely.” – Toronto Blues Society
