ARTIST BIOGRAPHY:

Melody is attending Alberta University of the Arts studying Bachelor of Design with a major in Illustration and minoring in Animation. Melody has a background in nursing and works in mental health. The artist in her is inspired by her work in mental health and her knowledge of expressive arts therapy as a healing modality. She truly believes that art-making promotes wellness in physical and psychological health. Melody works with various art mediums and is always keen on learning new ways to expand her art practice and storytelling.      

ARTIST STATEMENT:

I find inspiration for my art through personal experiences and the experiences of others. I want to tell stories and create art that gives people hope and joy. My boundless curiosity enables my art practice, and I am always exploring new ways to convey the complexities of our world in a positive and engaging way. Sometimes, I paint to express a feeling at a specific moment, and sometimes, I draw comics to tell a precious story. Whatever ideas I have, I am grateful to be able to share them with others and hope to make a small impression.
