Arts Commons Presents: Grit and Soul from Finger-picking Ace Todd Albright

CALGARY – A country blues musician inspired by the pre-war era of blues, Todd Albright has been performing for over 25 years.  In that time Todd has shared the stage with artists such as Roy Book Binder, Charlie Parr, Paul Geremia, and Dakota Dave Hull.

Gritty and soulful, Todd Albright accompanies his 12-string fingerpicking blues performances with stories of the masters, and a deep respect for the history and tradition of blues.

“There was just something about finger-picking style guitar that just resonated with me.  I didn’t care if it was Gordon Lightfoot or Jim Croce, it didn’t matter.  It was something about the sound,” says Todd Albright.

Todd began playing the blues while still a teenager, initially, drawn to the sound of the finger-picked style. He has since immersed himself in the foundational music and narratives of American culture. To watch Todd perform, click here.
