Arts Commons Presents: The Quintessential Jazz Saxophonist - Joshua Redman Quartet

CALGARY – If your image of a modern jazz performance includes a sweet sax and the kind of cat who knows how to work an audience, Joshua Redman is your man. Critics and fans have been blown away by his passionate live performances, dubbing Redman as one of the most charismatic artists of our time.

Joined by his long-time friends, the Joshua Redman Quartet jams on the Jack Singer Concert Hall stage on November 19, 2019, as part of the TD Jazz music series.

The Joshua Redman Quartet is made up of GRAMMY-nominated saxophonist Joshua Redman (son of famous saxophonist Dewey Redman), pianist Aaron Goldberg, bassist Reuben Rogers, and drummer Gregory Hutchinson. Their newest album, Come What May, released in 2019, is the quartet's first recording in almost two decades.

Also, just released on October 4, Sun and Sand, is Redman’s brand new album with the Brooklyn Rider string quartet. With evocative string arrangements mixed with deep jazz grooves, this is a must listen album.
