CALGARY – With over 25 successful performances employing 30 Calgary-based artists to date, Arts Commons’ ArtsXpeditions has brought free surprise pop-up performances to communities all over Calgary this summer. Now Arts Commons partners with Springboard Performance's containR project to bring a new, socially-distanced outdoor experience to our community.

"For Arts Commons, it’s essential that we continue to infuse our community with the live arts experience, and the natural way to do that has been through ArtsXpeditions – bringing the arts to where you are,” says Alex Sarian, President and CEO of Arts Commons.

“ArtsXpeditions has also allowed us to create crucial employment opportunities for performing artists who have found themselves abruptly unable to perform in traditional venues. We are thrilled that the response from Calgarians has been so positive.”

The hour-long performance on Tuesday, September 15, will include dancer and choreographer Sabrina Naz Comănescu accompanied by Calgary DJ FBG (Femi). The second half of the evening performance will feature queer country guitarist Robert Adam. For the Thursday, September 17 performance, Arts Commons welcomes Cindy Ansah with Lemba (improvised dance / free movement to vocals and poetry) and music from Kaeyae Alo accompanied by Abby Amu.
