Carri Clarke (Board Chair, CICF)
Carri is a third generation Calgarian and graduate of the Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary. She obtained her Chartered Accountant designation in 1996 while working at Deloitte & Touche. After working as an audit Senior Manager, she took a senior financial position at a small publicly traded oil & gas company. After that company was sold in 2000 she started a private oil & gas company, Fort Calgary Resources Ltd. with her husband, a geologist.
Carri has always loved the performing and visual arts. Ten years ago she joined the Calgary International Children’s Festival Board of Directors after being a loyal patron for several years. At the Festival she held the role of treasurer for many years and since November 2015 has held the position of Board Chair.
Carri has three children, two of which attend the Calgary Waldorf School (the other one being a recent graduate). One of the primary pedagogical bases for the school is teaching through the arts including music, both choral and instrumental, story-telling, woodwork, knitting, beeswax modelling, drawing and painting. Carri has been a Board Member of the Calgary Waldorf School for 8 years and is currently the Board President.
Carri is a big hockey fan cheering for both the Flames and her children’s teams. She spends much time at (and driving to) hockey, luge and cello lessons. She enjoys travelling, hiking, skiing and running.
