ConocoPhillips Canada assumes the role of Presenting Sponsor for National Geographic Live in Calgary

CALGARY, AB – Today, Arts Commons President & C.E.O., Johann Zietsman, is proud to announce that ConocoPhillips Canada, which is headquartered here in Calgary, is the new Presenting Sponsor of Calgary’s distinguished speaker series, National Geographic Live.

“We are grateful for the leadership shown by ConocoPhillips Canada to lead a community of corporate sponsors that help make it possible for Arts Commons to present National Geographic Live here in Calgary for the benefit of public and student audiences,” said Johann Zietsman.

National Geographic Live features dynamic speakers who are considered among the best in their fields. Using award-winning photographs and video, these captivating storytellers share adventures from the field, reporting on a wide range of human-interest and conservation topics and sharing messages of exploration and discovery that are unparalleled sources of content and inspiration for adult and student audiences.

During the 2018/19 Season of National Geographic Live, five intrepid National Geographic Explorers will visit Calgary to present eight Public Presentations and five Student Matinee Presentations with a total potential audience of just over 21,100 patrons.

“We’re proud to be the Presenting Sponsor of the 2018/19 Season of National Geographic Live,” said Michael Hatfield, President of ConocoPhillips Canada. “Giving back to the communities where we live and work is important to us and we look forward to supporting this upcoming season together with Arts Commons.”

The 2018/19 Season of National Geographic Live gets underway in November 2018, with the presentation Social By Nature by Filmmaker and Photographer Ronan Donovan. We’re back in January 2019, for the presentation A Planet To Call Home by former NASA Chief Scientist Dr. Ellen Stofan. The Photographer Thomas Peschak will present Wild Seas, Secret Shores in March 2019, and the 2018/19 Season will come to a close with the presentation Adventures Among Orangutans by Biological Anthropologist Cheryl Knott and Photographer Tim Laman.
