Dream a New World – Lana Skauge
Workshop Description
Create your adventure! This magical storytelling journey will take you on uncharted adventures with award-winning artist Lana Skauge. Together, we will be building a giant puppet AND exploring tabletop storytelling to create a sequel to The Skywatcher using the “magic three” of storytelling.

Artist Bio
Teaching artist, Lana Skauge, has been a professional actor and singer since 1979 touring throughout Great Britain and Canada. Lana has 24 one-woman shows, 11 plays and four published books to her credit. A recipient of the Duval Lang Theatre for Young Audiences Award for excellence, she has attended The Banff Centre (study grant) and participated in Richard Wagamese’s story intensive. Lana was rewarded two BP A+ for Energy (solar energy film shorts/wind energy radio plays written by children). In 2021, a cSPACE Incubator grant encouraged the ever-evolving artist to explore mixed media.
Recently, Lana’s voice over work was celebrated in WP Puppeteer’s new feature film called Bakster and Bird. Lana’s mission? To change the world with a story!
Robot Portraits and BOLTS Book Reading – Jenny Dale
Workshop Description
Join author and Illustrator, Jennifer Dale Stables for this 2-hour-long, robot portrait-making workshop. Drawing inspiration from her book, BOLTS, participants will be guided in creating their own robot creation out of recycled materials and found objects on wood. Get creative with everyday materials such as cardboard, bottle caps, wire, nuts, and bolts, and learn how to paint metallic effects using acrylic paint. This is a portrait-making class like no other!

Artist Bio
Jennifer Dale Stables is an artist and educator living in Okotoks, Alberta. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2001, a Bachelor of Education in 2005, and is certified as a Therapeutic Arts Practitioner.
Through her business, Jenny Dale Designs, she creates whimsical, heartfelt illustrations, sculptures, and paintings; and she writes poetry to accompany her artwork. Jennifer has illustrated 19 published books, 11 of which she also authored. She provides art residencies to schools in Calgary and surrounding areas, specializing in curricular connections to art using a wide variety of media.

Chantal Chagnon is a Cree / Métis Singer, Drummer, Artist, Storyteller, Actor, Educator, Workshop Facilitator, Social Justice Advocate and Activist with roots in Muskeg Lake Cree Nation, Saskatchewan. She shares Traditional Indigenous Songs, Stories, Culture, History, Arts, Indigenous Craftsmanship and Teachings. Chantal has presented in Classrooms from Preschool through University and Professional, Community, and Social Justice Events and Gatherings.
